I Was Confessed To And Got Dumped, So I Devoted Myself To My Hobbies, But Things Somehow Got Out Of Hand? Chapter 9

TL Note: Sorry for the late update, I was busy with forklift training and I thought this chapter was gonna be quite boring so I wanted to do a double release or something but it took more time than expected. btw we have a discord for the jp side of otaku translation, there's only like 3 people on that server so there's nothing there at all, so if you just want to know the transaltion status or tell me to translate faster here's the link(it expires in 7 days): https://discord.gg/gJeu2wEW

Chapter 9: Masamune-sensei's lecture on using twitter

"I'm here."

One day after my vocaloid composing, and proofreading of [Mission] work calmed down, I went to the publishing office.

The reason was because I was called over by my editor, Amano-san.

"Tenjouin-sensei wanted to meet with you."

Now that I think about it, I didn't exchange contacts with him the first time we met.

"My my, if it isn't Haru-sensei, how are you today?"

"Uu…"

When I arrived at the editing department, I met the editor that tried to chase me out last time.

“I am really sorry about the other day.”

I’m a little bad at dealing with this editor.

Or rather, it’s pretty obvious they’re glaring at me.

Although their tone was polite, they’re holding a pretty deep grudge.

“Hello, is Tenjouin-san in at the moment?”

“Of course, they’re in right now. Although they are meeting with their editor at the moment.”

“I understand, thank you very much.”

I bowed and went towards the seats that seemed like they were for waiting.

“If that’s the case, why not have a meal with me? As an apology for the other day, I will pay for it.”

This is [Guhehe, This is payback for last time.]

Is probably what they mean.

"I'm fine, I also have to do something after all…"

"It's just for a bit. isn't it fine if it's just for a small while?"

"No, I'm fine, really…"

"You never learn, don't you?"

"T,Tenjouin-sensei…"

The editor made a vexed face.

Tenjouin-sensei arrived in a white suit.

"You came at just the right time Haru-sensei, why don't we continue our conversation from last time?"

Gripping my shoulder, he pushed me towards the sofas.

"Thank you very much Masamune-sensei"

Me and Masamune-sensei sat facing each other on the sofa.

I said my thanks to Masamune-sensei.

"It's only natural to help a rival in need. it's good that my meeting ended just in time."

He breathed out, and let out a laugh while doing a mysterious pose with his hand on his forehead.

"... That editor has quite the attitude when it comes to younger people and those lower in rank, you should take care."

"I understand. Thank you for your help. So then… what did you want to talk about?"

"I wanted to teach sensei more about social media, I've been thinking that I should teach you as your senior in the industry."

Fuhahaha, laughed Masamune-sensei.

"About social media…?"

"Yeah, from what I've seen Haru-sensei has a twitter account, right?"

"That's right, I just made it recently."

"Although I'm a little unsatisfied about the fact that, that recently made account already surpassed mine in terms of followers."

Please stop suddenly getting down.

You're even sulking.

"But! From the tweets I've seen, you're not used to using it, are you?"

"So you could tell?"

To be frank, in order to make the account it was my first time installing the app, so I'm not really sure about how to use it.

"One of Twitter's benefits is that people all over the world use it. Moreover, with the retweet function, your tweets can spread far and wide. There's probably a higher rate of going viral on Twitter."

So it's like that.

Masamune-sensei's explanation is easy to understand.

"Can I take a look at Haru-sensei's tweets?"

"It's fine, though?"

If he looked it up, it should show up, but directly showing it to him should be faster.

"What the heck, you've only tweeted twice!?"

Masamune-sensei shouted out.

The people in the editing department all glared at us at the same time.

I'm sorry.

"Only [I started a twitter account] and about [Mission]'s novelisation??"

"Is there something wrong with that?"

"It's too little! The reason you have so many followers is because they want to see your posts. if you don't tweet as much, they'll just get tired of it."

"I,Is that so?"

"Try taking a picture of me."

Picture?

I took a photo of Masamune-sensei with my phone.

"Try tweeting something with this photo."

"Eeh?"

"it's fine so just do it."

Umm, Is [I'm learning how to use twitter from Masamune-sensei] fine?

"And then I'll tweet it out…"

After tweeting it, there were already 100 or 200 likes and retweets before I realized.

"Is there a reason I had to do this?"

"Most people who open up twitter are usually bored. Most of them just use it to kill time. For example if I tweeted out [This shop's product was delicious] what would you think after seeing that?"

"Hm… for me, if it's something I haven't tried before, I would probably want to try and eat it myself."

"That's right, like this you'll be able to gather information you didn't know about. it's fine to think that followers put importance into the posts of the people they follow."

"That's right… I liked Amatsu Atsume-sensei's illustrations so I followed her."

"But, something you need to be careful about is that the more followers you have, the faster the information will spread. so if you were to, for example, tweet out that you went to a certain place at the same time you were there, it might cause a ton of people to gather where you are. "

Masamune-sensei said this with a really dark face.

Ah, he might've experienced it himself.

"That sounds scary."

"Yeah, it really was. I don't want to ever experience that again."

Dang, it became a trauma.

"I understand, I'll tweet when I can."

"Yeah, feel free to contact me if you're in trouble. you can also use my tweets for reference."

As expected, sensei really is a good person.

And his explanations are easy to understand.

"Thank you very much."

"Don't mention it. Also because of the tweet a while ago my followers also increased a little."

The tweet from a while ago already surpassed 10k retweets.

After I thanked Masamune-sensei again, I went back home.

At night.

"Just like sensei said, let's tweet a little bit at a time."

[I just entered the bath.]

[I will be eating dinner now.]

[I scheduled the next post.]

When I tweeted as such, I got a call from Masamune-sensei on LIME.

"Although I told you to increase your tweets, I didn't mean to tweet about everything!?"

Uun… Twitter is hard.

  1. I know this is fiction, but that's definitely not what twitter is for. Twitter is for getting extremely offended by innocuous things or on someone else's behalf.
