Chapter 139

The most prosperous red light district in the capital was a place called ‘The Noble’s Nightown’ and standing there was the large and splendid mansion of Count Zodiac.

Everyone who visited and worked there wore a mask. Thus, Kayena and Jeddiah wore masks and pretended to be guests.

“Attack!”

Shouts erupted at Jeddiah’s signal, and people suddenly poured inside. Due to the sudden situation, Yester’s men were left feeling confused.

“Don’t stop! Kill them all!”

“Argh!”

Jeddiah’s knights began to destroy Yester’s mansion. The job would have been much easier if guns could be used, but this couldn’t be done since there was a tacit rule not to use guns in places like these.

Although the place around her had become a battlefield, Kayena still walked at a slow pace. She roamed through the mob, smashing any lantern she encountered. Since the less the light, the easier this operation will be.

The gambling hall on the first floor of the mansion quickly became a mess. Kayena destroyed the lanterns with the iron rod in her hand to make the nobles who were still inside flee faster.

Bam!

The lanterns that were lined up in a row were all smashed and shards splattered in all directions. The fire inside the lanterns soon made its way onto the floor, and the mansion started catching fire.

“Fire!”

Aristocrats, who were enjoying the fun while wearing masks, started running away and screaming in confusion.

Then Kayena heard a familiar voice.

“I don’t remember inviting a crazy woman to my mansion.”

It was Yester speaking, wearing a fox mask. “Are you the woman going by Madame Medea?” He asked sarcastically.

But Kayena didn’t speak and only swung her weapon at Yester in reply.

Whoosh!

He backed away from her, surprised that she had dared to be so reckless.

“-!”

Kayena was good at controlling time, but she did not have any special abilities when it came to fighting. Even though she had swung her sword fast, Yester still had time to react.

Yester gritted his teeth and looked at Kayena, who was completely covered in black.

“The owner himself has come out, yet you don’t bother to say hello? I’ve been tolerating you ever since you came poking around my town.”

He put his hand on his side and pulled out a gun.

‘Of course, there’s no way this bastard would follow the rules.’

But it didn't matter. Kayena just needed to move faster than the bullet he shot.

Bang!

Kayena rushed forward, making time slow down. She hit the bullet with her iron rod, which hit Yester’s waist in return.

“Argh!” Yester screamed like a beast at the terrible pain that crushed his organs.

"Master!”

His men drew their guns and aimed them at Kayena. But Jeddiah was a little bit faster.

Bang!

Kayena had also given Jeddiah a gun earlier. Yester wasn't the only one who didn't want to follow the rules around here.

Yester, meanwhile, raised his gun, and glared at Kayena with red, bloodshot eyes.

He has big guts.

Kayena stepped back behind her to dodge her bullets, but she broke her arm, this time holding her gun.

“Argh … !” Yester cried out as he swallowed his moans.

“Blow it up!” He shouted.

Bang!

A loud noise was heard. It was an explosion. It looked like Yester had explosives installed in the mansion.

But Kayena just smirked under her veil.

“Withdraw!” Kayena’s voice, which was enhanced by magic, was heard everywhere.

Kayena smirked at Yester. “Thank you for saving me the trouble, Yester.”

What would she do with the Underworld? The attack on the mansion was not really about making herself the owner of this place. It was to show the nobles that Yester had lost his power. As a result, Yester will definitely not be able to succeed to the throne especially since the nobles consider him to be a brute.

“....you!” Yester cried out. His face had been exposed after his fox mask had been taken off, but he continued glaring at Kayena. “You’re doing this knowing who I am!”

“You're too loud.” Kayena had no desire to deal with him anymore, so she lifted the metal rod to break his leg.

Crack!

Suddenly, something was caught in the rod that she was holding. She turned around looking puzzled, but saw no one. Then she saw a mysterious black smoke consuming the iron rod. But before the smoke could reach her hand, Kayena dropped the rod.

Clang!

The rod fell helplessly on the floor.

Obviously, this was magic.

Another Wizard?

Someone nearby was exuding an ominous aura. Was it just one person? There might be several. Kayena tried to pause time, but she had already overused her powers, so she felt an overwhelming sense of dizziness overtake her body.

“Dumb bitch!”

Yester took an Elixir out of his pocket, drank it, and because of the elixir, he was fine again. He swung his fist at Kayena while looking at her with bloodshot eyes. But Kayena did not have time to be concerned with him.

Slap!

A man in a cat mask suddenly appeared and grabbed Yester’s arm.

Without thinking twice, Yester kicked the man. However, it was as if he was hitting air. Only then did he realize that the man wearing the cat mask was a wizard.

“Wizards, help me! Here’s the one you’re looking for!”

Bael, the man in the cat mask, held Kayena by her waist and created a shield surrounding them to block the black smoke that was spearing around.

Boom!

The mansion collapsed quickly. Soon after, three men in black robes appeared in the midst of the ruins.

The short man in the middle was snickering.

“So the owner of the Black Garden came all the way here.”

Bael looked at them with his arms around the coldly sweating Kayena.

“This woman is mine.”

“Cut the bullshit.”

The man then took off the hood that was covering his face. He had a creepy appearance filled with madness. But something was bizarre, the man resembled Bael!

“Aren’t you supposed to stay out of human affairs, Older Brother?”

“Who’s your older brother?”

“How sad. Aren’t we the only ones left in our family?”

Bael gritted his teeth.

The man looked at Bael with a smile. “Hand over the Black Garden and if not…”

“Don’t make me angry!”

Bang!

The black smoke blew up and disappeared even before it could get closer to Bael. Kayena stood upright, letting out a slight sigh. A cold sweat rolled down her nape, but after a while her mind became clear again. She looked at the man resembling Bael with a scornful gaze.

“All those so-called younger ones are…”

Kayena reached out to him, however, her opponent was one who wouldn’t be easily beaten. He vanished with a scattering black smoke and appeared in another place.

“Oh, what a delightful ability!” he clapped for Kayena with a jubilant face. “I’m not kidding, I want to make you mine right now!”

“Stop it, Cain!”

Cain, the wizard, commenced forming the black smoke into the shape of a giant hand, without paying attention when Bael’s anger burst out.

Pshh...

Everything that the smoke touched quickly began corroding and melting. At that moment, Kayena grabbed Bael and exited the area.

Sparkle!

However, they could only get out of the mansion because she had not fully recovered yet and her knees became soft after the spell.

“Be careful.” Bael hurriedly helped Kayena, who stumbled.

“...How did you raise your little brother?” she criticized him, breathing roughly.

“Your brother is even worse!” said Bael with an outrageous look. “And he’s not a brother to me anymore!” continued Bael, suffering unfairness. “Wizards are independent beings!”

Then Cain, who turned the mansion upside down with the black smoke, came out and spoke to him with a sad look.

“That’s so saddening, hyung. I wanna kill you.”

“Run away while I’m dealing with him.” Bael told Kayena, sighing.

Kayena instinctively felt it would be dangerous to use more of her magic.

Sparkle!

She hurriedly left the area.
